Neighbors who go out when the call comes
Killington Search & Rescue grew out of the backcountry and recreational community it serves. The foundation lets that same community support it.
Killington Search & Rescue
KSAR was formed more than a dozen years ago, out of a need recognized by people who live, work and play in Killington's backcountry.
The team is made up entirely of volunteers and operates under the Killington Police Department, with core funding from the Town of Killington. Its mission is to locate, stabilize and transport patients to a higher level of care.
The KSAR Foundation
The foundation was created to give the community a direct way to support the team. Rescue gear is expensive, and so is training. Our goals are to reduce how much volunteers spend on their own gear and to reduce the cost of the team's services to local taxpayers.
- A charitable 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 99-3454514)
- Separate from the Town of Killington
- All money raised, beyond administrative costs, goes to gear and training for the KSAR team
Help keep rescuers ready
Every gift goes toward gear and training for the KSAR team.
